Kaiser Idell 6840 Table Lamp with Orange Shade – SOLD

Kaiser Idell 6840 Table Lamp

The Model No. 6840 table lamp is one of the lamps designed by Christian Dell for German lighting manufacturers Gebr. Kaiser & Co. The Kaiser Idell 6840 belongs to the collection “Idell”. The name of this collection is derived from the combination of the word “Idee” (German for idea) and the last name of it’s designer “Dell”.

Christian Dell was a German Silversmith (born in 1893 in Hanau and died in 1974) who went to the school of arts in Weimar that later became the Bauhaus. In the 1920s he was the technical director of the metal workshop at the Weimar Bauhaus. In the 1930s Christian Dell designed numerous lights for various German lighting manufacturers.

The Kaiser Idell 6840 has a sleek design and features a metal base, with an orange (outside) and white (inside) lacquered metal shade. The light switch is on top of the shade. This item is in good original vintage condition; it has no defects, but shows some age-related patina. More pictures can be provided on request.

The lamp fits 1 E27 light bulb.
